7.2/10

I had a mixed experience at Hotel Astoria Copacabana. While the location was great, just two blocks from Copacabana Beach, the customer service and room quality left much to be desired. The breakfast had a decent variety, but the overall maintenance of the hotel felt lacking and overly crowded at times.

Rooms
5.0
The room was clean but tired, with limited space and noise from the air conditioning. Despite being upgraded to a suite, it still felt cramped due to the narrow balcony and the view being obstructed by the opposite building.
Service
5.0
I found the service to be disappointing, particularly at reception. Staff seemed overwhelmed and uninterested, which negatively impacted my stay. On one occasion, there was no help offered when I needed to switch rooms.
Location
8.0
The location was definitely a highlight, as it was conveniently located near the beach and various dining options, making it easy to explore the area.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast options were decent, with an omelette made to order. However, the quality of the bread and overall selection could be improved.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were basic, with lifts that could be unreliable when the hotel was busy, and no in-room wifi access during my stay, which was quite frustrating.

5.8/10

My stay at Hotel Astoria Copacabana was quite disappointing. While the location was excellent, just a couple of blocks from the beautiful Copacabana Beach, the overall experience was marred by the outdated and poorly maintained rooms. Additionally, the staff's service left much to be desired, making it a forgettable stay.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was damp and had a musty smell, which was really off-putting. The bathroom felt like it hadn't been updated since the '70s, and cleanliness was an issue. I also encountered a cockroach in the bed, which was unacceptable. I did appreciate the size of the room, but the overall condition was lacking.
Service
5.0
The staff seemed uninterested in providing good service. I noticed that they were not very helpful when I had questions. It felt like I was bothering them when asking for basic assistance, which is not how hospitality should feel.
Location
7.0
The hotel is in a great spot, just a short walk from the beach. It's in a nice area of Copacabana and felt safe to explore. That was one of the few positives during my stay.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were limited, but it included some decent items like made-to-order omelets and fruit juice. It wasn't anything lovely, but it served its purpose.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities felt outdated and were not well-maintained. I encountered issues with the air conditioning, and the noise level from the aircon and lifts was frustrating.

6.8/10

I had a mixed experience at Hotel Astoria Copacabana. The location is superb, just a couple of blocks from Copacabana Beach, but the atmosphere felt more like a hostel than a hotel. While my upgraded suite had nice features like a jacuzzi bath and a balcony, the room itself was tired and damp, which was a significant downside to my stay.

Rooms
5.0
The suite I stayed in was a bit worn and had a musty smell. The balcony, while a nice touch, was very narrow and the view was obstructed.
Service
5.0
The staff was polite and made efforts to provide service, but there were moments where they seemed overwhelmed and not particularly helpful, especially when it came to addressing issues with my room.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is great, just two blocks from the beach and surrounded by restaurants and stores, making it easy to explore the area.
Dining
6.0
I found the breakfast options to be average; the bread lacked taste, though the fruit was nice. The omelette made to order was a highlight.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had a clean outdoor pool, but I did encounter some issues with the WiFi being unavailable in my room. The laundry services and other facilities were okay.

6.2/10

My stay at Hotel Astoria Copacabana was a mixed bag. The location was a definite highlight, being just two blocks from the beach and centrally located. However, the rooms left much to be desired, with issues like noise from the fridge and overall cleanliness. The service was lacking, making my experience less enjoyable than I had hoped for.

Rooms
5.0
The room I had was tiny, barely enough space to open my suitcase. Plus, the fridge next to the bed was unbelievably noisy, disrupting my sleep. While the room was supposed to be clean, I felt it could have been better maintained overall.
Service
5.0
I found the service to be pretty poor. The staff seemed indifferent and not very helpful. For example, I had an issue with my luggage after check-out, and they were not accommodating at all. This really added to my frustration during my stay.
Location
8.0
The location was one of the best parts of my stay. It was just a short walk to Copacabana Beach and surrounded by shops and cafes. This made it convenient to find whatever I needed, especially as a tourist.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast offered was decent but not nice. They did serve omelettes made to order, which is always a plus, but the rest of the options felt basic and not very high-quality.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities like dry cleaning and housekeeping were available, which was nice. However, the overall upkeep of the communal areas left something to be desired, with the lifts being unreliable during my stay.

5.4/10

I had a disappointing stay at Hotel Astoria Copacabana. While the location was excellent and close to the beach, the room's air conditioning didn’t function properly, and I encountered unhelpful staff. Despite a decent breakfast, the overall service and maintenance issues overshadowed any positives I found during my stay.

Rooms
5.0
The room was cramped and the air conditioning barely worked, making it uncomfortable. I felt claustrophobic, especially with no proper view and poor air circulation.
Service
5.0
The staff seemed uninterested in helping, and I faced challenges when trying to resolve issues with my room. They weren't responsive or polite, which made my experience worse.
Location
8.0
The hotel is situated in a good area, just a few blocks from Copacabana Beach, which is a major plus.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was included and had a good variety, but the dining area was quite cramped, giving it a corridor feel rather than a spacious eatery.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were lacking, with only one out of two elevators working during my stay, which was frustrating. The hotel seemed to prioritize maximizing guest capacity over comfort.
